This case study shows how structured business directory listings helped strengthen the online visibility of The Efficient Penguin Co.
By creating consistent listings across trusted directories including Yell, Cylex and Yelp, the work supports search engine credibility, improves discoverability, and reinforces accurate business information across the web. Consistent directory listings help search engines verify a business and make it easier for potential clients to find and trust the company online.

Current Website Projects
A look at current websites being built by Simple Website Development & Support.
Some of these projects are still in progress, but they show the kind of small businesses I’m currently supporting with clear structure, calm design, visibility, and enquiry-focused websites.
Thrifty Mobility
Thrifty Mobility is a Norfolk-based mobility scooter and wheelchair repair, servicing and hire business. Their new website was designed and built by Simple Website Development & Support and launched in June 2026.
Since launch, the website has continued to grow with the business. Most recently, we created a dedicated Mobility Scooter & Wheelchair Hire in Norfolk page to support Thrifty's expanding hire service, with clear information, helpful advice, FAQs and simple ways for customers to get in touch.
The website was built to grow with Thrifty Mobility, allowing new services and pages to be added as the business develops.
Earthwise Fenland
Earthwise Fenland is a current website project by Simple Website Development & Support, creating a new online wellbeing and sustainable living directory for Fenland and the surrounding area. The website is being built to help local people easily discover businesses, organisations, services and support across five carefully structured categories.
The project includes individual business listings, searchable directory categories and a clear journey that makes it simple for visitors to find relevant local support and learn more about each organisation. The focus is on creating a warm, community-led website that is easy to explore while giving participating businesses and organisations meaningful online visibility.
Why these case studies matter
These aren’t template examples or demo builds.
They are real businesses, with real constraints, real customers and real goals.
Each case study shows: • How the site was structured • Why key design decisions were made • How SEO foundations were built • Internal and external linking• Social media integration • Conversion-focused layouts • And what impact the website had on enquiries, traffic and growth
Understanding the results
Throughout these case studies you’ll see terms like page views, indexing, breadcrumbs, HTTPS and Core Web Vitals.
I believe clients should understand what’s happening behind their website — not just be shown a finished design.
That’s why I’ve created a plain-English FAQ section explaining the most common website and SEO terms, what they mean, and why they matter for your business.

As new client projects launch, this page will continue to grow with real examples, results and insights.
“5 Star Review – January 2026
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I honestly could not be more grateful for her thoroughness and support… She doesn’t just set something up and leave it. She explains the reasoning behind it, shares additional opportunities to improve visibility, and ensures everything is aligned properly.

How much does a small business website cost in the UK?
A small business website in the UK can cost anywhere from £300 to £3,000+, depending on how it’s built, who builds it, and whether it’s set up to actually bring enquiries. This blog explains real pricing, what’s often missing from cheaper builds, and what actually makes a website work.
